The merry trio arrived at the trading post.
"Look around for anything we could use to safely cross the bridge," Eredin instructed the warlock as he set about doing the same, keeping their captive on a short leash.

"Ahhh, the joys of makeshift carpentry..." Aestro kept the prisoner away from any dangerous tools she might employ towards her liberation.
"You should have seen the wooden altar Papa carved for my half-sister when he thought she was pregnant. Infant sacrifices have a charm you can't really describe to others..." He sighed, wistfully. "Alas, her moon's blood was just a little late. Fortunately, Papa had knocked up one of the slaves, so it wasn't a complete waste. Can only have one male heir, you understand. Continuity of conception."
He gestured towards a shelf of hunting supplies in the back. "Don't forget about Kella's friends! Grab some caltrops and an animal trap if they have it. Also, some manacles for our guest."
He turned to Kella. "I must stress this doesn't mean we're romantically involved. I eventually chain up all the beautiful women in my life."

"Charming," Eredin remarked, well accustomed to his patron's occasional disturbing story told in the same tone one used describing a delightful childhood anecdote or the weather. "We should have enough here to make a rope bridge. Cut the rope in half, tie the planks in, I'll jump across, you toss me the lengths with the grappling hooks, and we secure them to each side using the pitons."
He grabbed a pair of manacles from the shelf, replacing their captive's rope-bound wrists with proper restraints as he pocketed the key. He also grabbed a couple hunting traps and five bags of caltrops, planning to be prepared if they had to mount a defense.
