"It is one of the many temples dedicated to the Moon Goddess, Selûne. I studied the faith there every since I very young. " The horses seemed calm as she continued,"I was left there as a babe." Makes more sense than a brothel, Cass thought with a half smile. "You're still a babe," he offered up with his usual blend of suave. "But if you studied the moon or the goddess of it, where did you learn wizardry?" From what he remembered, the more secular arts tended to dislike the divine ones. He felt a tad suspicious over the easy ride; presumably the dwarf had thought something out here was worth hiring mercenaries to protect, but he wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

She lightly smiled at his comment this time,"Honestly I don't know.... I don't know much about myself, but the faith is favorable to female spellcasters and travelers, as well."
"I think that's why I was able to stay for so long. Plus, what person would be so heartless as to ignore a child in need?" Fae looked at him,"You don't smell so bad, you clean up pretty good."

"Faith and the arcane aren't mutually exclusive fields" Ekemon said, overhearing the discussion from the caravan, where he was fiddling with the sights on his thundercannon. "Mystra and her followers still exist" he added, before chuckling "In spite of the best efforts of Cyric"

"Lots of practice bathing," he joked at Far before the Tiefling responded. "I suppose that makes sense. Up north we don't get many arcane casters. I think they prefer warmer weather like anyone sane." He looked at the cannon. "I saw a man use one of those against ogres once," he said. "How far can you fire that thing?"

I believe the Goddess is going to guide me to more worshippers. once this is over",She nodded. Then responding to Cass, she replied,"Well thank the Goddess I was left on the steps of the temple and the priestess heard my cries or I would not be here... To travel with you."

"In theory, I've found shots at five hundred feet away." Ekemon said, taking a moment to check the alignment of the sights, using Cassian as a reference. "However, it can get a bit... unreliable past about one-fifty. Hardly worth looking at the target then, hitting is a matter of luck"

Cassian didn't much appreciate having the weapon aimed at him but for now he merely glared at it momentarily. "Yes," he said, "quite fortunate she took pity on raised you," he agreed with Fae.
"Have you ever had a chance to use it in battle?" He asked, with genuine curiosity. It seemed a terrifying but inefficient weapon, all told. Scare the shit out of horses and wildlife, no doubt.

You've been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day, he woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment and dense thickets on either side. As you come around a bend, you spot trails of blood down the road, leading to two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. You can see several black-feathered arrows sticking out of it.

Ekemon turned to focus on the road ahead, thundercannon aimed and ready. "One time, a while back now. Ended the battle actually" he said in reply, as he looked over the area for signs of whoever was responsible. Perception: I6DhO3DL1-20 1-20

"Stop the wagon," Cassian said quietly to Fae. He picked his shield up,ensuring it faced whichever side of the embankment was uphill. He looked to the others. "They're probably uphill," he said, "if they're still around. I can guard the wagon with Fae here if you three want to flush them out of hiding." He put his crossbow next to Fae so he could use it if anyone appeared, but overall he trusted in his two main ranged allies to deal with attacks from a distance. He carefully observed for signs of where the bandits might be.

Fae pulled the reins, the wagon came to a slow stop. She held them tightly, remembering what he told about the horses when they get scared. Last thing they needed was an overturned wagon and runaway horses.
She took notice of the crossbow, and began to look about as well.

Marius quickly jumped from the coach, drawing his bow and notching an arrow before his feet touched the ground. He stayed low and out of sight, using whatever foliage lay near as a crude cover.
After approaching the gruesome scene, he begins his investigation to determine what might have happened, and more importantly, how recently. He inspects the type of arrows used to take down the horses, looking for any recognizable markings that would elude to the perpetrators. Marius then dips his finger into one of the pools of blood, rubbing it between his thumb and index finger to test if it had already congealed.

Some twenty feet ahead they see two tiny green figures rolling out of the tree line with scimitars in their hands, yelling something in a tongue they couldn't quite comprehend. Of course, it had to be an ambush... Goblins, thought Marius in disgust. He aimed his bow at the back of the creature's skull and let loose an arrow.
