You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.

Cassian holds the wagon's reins in his hands, a firm grip needed to pass over uncertain terrain. He has been mostly quiet and professional the last few days; gold was at stake so the time for teasing the half elf or the tinker was far in the past. His armor stays on despite the supreme discomfort and his shield lays next to him. To pass the time he quotes long passages from his favorite plays out loud, his love of theater a vestige of his early days guarding the mummer caravans to the north, and he tries to abide by any requests for monologues or soliloquies his companions offer up.

Performance: ZdAVIAxk1-20 +4 Cassian's memory from the days with the mummers dosn't fail him, he remembers most of those passages by heart. For the last half hour, he has been reciting the tale of an elf lady and a dwarf miner who give up all their possessions to stay together, leaving behind friends and family. Only, to the end of the story, the young dwarf is turned into a newt and the elven lady into a bog unicorn by the witch who had first allowed them to be together; the Witch proceeds to kill them both and be eaten by a dragon. Well... It was not the BEST of their plays, definetly far from those of the great Dragonborn poet and playright Drakespeare. But an entertaining tale, nonetheless. Lot's of explosions and dragons, children love those. |

Marius listened to Cassian as he performed for the group, half of him entertained, the other half weary of being so loud and obvious while on the road. He tended to be more cautious when he traveled, staying behind the tree line and out of sight. However, they had numbers now, and from what he learned over the past few days with his cohorts, they were not without defenses.
He kept a sharp eye on the woods, looking for any signs of trouble.

Faelyn joined the scoundrel, Cass in diving the wagon. Her quarterstaff rating between them, she listened to him recite the lines. So, this is what adventure is... Alright, she might as well keep an eye out.

"Well," Cassian said, "that's enough for a day. You want to take the reins, wizard?" he asked Fae. "Get some practice while the ride is easy." He looked about for the lay of the land. Bandits would strike at the narrow points or at the entrance to forests. Sneaky bastards. "If arrows start flying keep your head low." The tinker would be useful here; bandits wouldn't have a range advantage against his magic/wonder gun.

She took the reigns, Faelyn was a bit nervous. The most she ever did was ride a house, briefly. "Alright", she replied," but no criticism and I'll keep my eyes open. Thank you. "

Cass is silent as she takes the reins, rising to get a better vantage point to look out. They were a reasonably formidable looking crew, the five of them, and only desperate or truly prepared bandits would come their way. He was more concerned with the wildlife, really. Faerun had hundreds of species whose only purpose was the consumption of human flesh. "If the horses spook they'll try running. Don't ever lose grip of the reins."

Cass turned back to the others. "So, what are your stories?" He asked. "Not often you see a paladin willing to do escort duty. Not judging, just observing," he said rapidly. Riding a silent wagon was dreadfully boring.

Toustain was riding next to the wagon, his eyes darting from side to side looking out for possible ambushes.
"We do what we have to do." he said at the paladin remark.
